Sykes Creek Adventures Eco-Festival

Brevard County Parks and Recreation and Friends of Ulumay will host Sykes Creek Adventures on Saturday, February 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kiwanis Island Park, 951 Kiwanis Island Park Road, Merritt Island.

Sykes Creek Adventures is a family eco-festival featuring opportunities to explore and enjoy the natural resources ofBrevard County. Attendees will be able to meet people and organizations involved with the environmental aspects of the county, delve into the history and archaeology of the Indian River Lagoon, attend workshops, make oyster mats and take a guided kayak trip in Sykes Creek.

Raffles of donated items will be conducted to benefit the Wildlife Care Center located in Canaveral Groves. Anglers for Conservation and Coastal Angler Magazine will host a free Hook Kids on Fishing program for kids ages 6 to 16 with their parents. There will be clinics on casting, conservation, habitat restoration, fishing safety, knot tying and catch and release tactics. Professional guides and knowledgeable anglers will assist with fishing.
